William Zhao
After growing up in China, William Zhao went to obtain his MBA in France. He remained in the country for 11 years, working in the finance field. He became interested in the arts and growingly became involved in the French art scene, advising the French Government Commission in charge of the Joint France-China Years in 2001-2002 and the president of the Pompidou Centre Jean-Jacques Aillagon in the exhibition "Alor, Chine". Mr. Zhao return to Asia in 2003 he has devoted himself more and more to his passion in advising collectors and writing on contemporary Chinese art. Publications which regularly feature his columns include Modern Weekly (周末画报) and Bazaar Art. He is also curator of major exhibitions of Chinese artists: most recently these included a solo exhibition for Liu Weijian in Hong-Kong and another solo exhibition for Zhang Huan in Macao, exhibition of works by Zhan Wang at Beijing's China National History Museum. Later in 2011 will follow a large exhibition in UCCA in Beijing, and advises private clients and museums on acquisitions.
