Announcement of 2009-10 Sovereign European Art Prize Finalists 01/03/2010

It is with great pleasure we announce this year's Sovereign European Art Prize finalists.

The prize received a record number of entries, with artists nominated by art experts from over 30 European countries. The shortlist was selected by this year's judges Sir Peter Blake (artist), Tim Marlow (White Cube), Philly Adams (Saatchi Gallery), Gavin Turk (artist), Robert Punkenkhofer (Art & Idea), Joseph Backstein (Moscow Biennale) and Nasser Azam (artist).

Please view them here: Europe 2009-10 Gallery

Not only did the entries show a strong return to painting, but as Robert Punkenhofer said "The more than 350 entries clearly documented the wonderful diversity and strength of Europe's artistic scene. The prize will certainly raise the visibility of some of the most promising painters and photographers from the continent."

Now we need your help to select the public vote prize winner. Please do go through the top thirty and vote for your favourite and pass the link along to your friends and colleagues to do the same to help an artist win this prestigious public vote prize.

This year's exhibition will be held at the Barbican Centre from the 9-20th in London in June, where the judges will decide the winner of the 25,000 euro prize.

The gala auction dinner shall be held around this time. Please contact us for enquiries about table sales and further event details.

We are still looking for sponsors for the exhibition and gala auction so if you are interested please contact Rachael at Rachael@SovereignArtFoundation.com or call +44(0)20 7389 0555.

Our Patron's Programme is still running as we strive to raise more money to help disadvantaged children using the arts as education, rehabilitation and therapy.
