2016 Sovereign MENA Art Prize Finalists announced

The top 30 Finalists of the very first Sovereign Middle East & North Africa (MENA) Art Prize have been revealed! We are excited to arrive in the UAE for the very first time this month for the inaugural Sovereign MENA Art Prize. The Prize will culminate in a grand exhibition, dinner and auction conducted by Christie’s and held on October 19, 2016, where the first prize winner will be crowned and awarded US$30,000. The winner of a public vote will also be recognised with a US$1,000 prize. The top 30 artworks include a photographic piece formed by silver particles found in a disused photo studio, a flower sculpture created from mirrored stainless steel and a sculpture made entirely from plastic figurines. All finalist pieces have been produced by highly talented artists from locations across the MENA region, including the UAE, Lebanon, Morocco and Turkey, amongst others. The selected artworks will be exhibited to the public for the very first time at the opening night of the Finalists Exhibition at Warehouse 46, Alserkal Avenue, on Thursday October 13, 2016. The exhibition is open to all from 12pm-8pm on October 14-17, 2016. Please come along and take a look!
