Plans this weekend? Why not check out the 20 finalists of The Sovereign Art Foundation Students Prize, Hong Kong 2017, at Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong – and bring the kids for some fun art activities.
The artworks by the Students Prize finalists, who are from both secondary school and university levels, demonstrate the high quality of artistic work that can be produced by students in Hong Kong. All 20 pieces will be on display in the SAF booth from 19-21 May, 2017 and the public will be invited to cast a vote for their favourite student work to win a Public Vote Prize (those who can’t attend the exhibition can still vote online here).
The Prize winners will be decided by a judging panel of art professionals, including Dominique Chan, Head of Gallery and Exhibitions at Asia Society Hong Kong Center; Angel Yip, Associate Specialist, Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art, Christie’s; and Tiffany Pinkstone and Howard Bilton – SAF Director and Chairman, respectively. The successful students will be announced on the morning of Sunday 21 May at the fair.
A number of the student artworks will also be available to buy via a silent auction that will run for the duration of the fair.
In addition to the exhibition, SAF will also offer a fun and creative ‘Make Your Own Dreamcatcher’ workshop at the booth, which will be open to children of all ages. Come along and get crafty!
We hope to see you there.
