Michèle Sandoz has worked over the past two decades in different capacities on international commercial and non-commercial projects. Presently she is the Global Head of VIP Relations at Art Basel. She leads the global development and execution of Art Basel global VIP strategy. Before joining Art Basel, she held the role as General Manager and deputy director of Christie’s in Zurich and oversaw their business development activities for Asia. Prior to that, she headed the department of Asian Art at Koller Auctions in Zurich, where she worked as specialist of South East Asian art. Thereafter, she joined Daros Latin America Collection to develop and manage their collection of contemporary Latin American art. Michèle studied Chinese and Japanese Art history and Chinese language and culture at the University of Zurich and the Beijing Language and Cultural University. Presently, she sits on the Advisory Board of the Executive Master in Art Market Studies of the University of Zurich and joined the newly launched Art Market Mentors program as a mentor. Born in Zimbabwe, she speaks French, English, German and Mandarin, and lives in Zurich with her son.
