Welcome to Charity!
Dr. Henrietta Tsui-Leung
Founder and CEO, Galerie Ora-Ora
A pioneer and unifier of the Hong Kong art gallery scene, Henrietta established the Hong Kong Art Gallery Association in 2012 with fellow art enthusiast Karin Weber. Henrietta has successfully launched the international careers of a number of Chinese artists, building major exhibition opportunities at international museums and art fairs. She has had a decisive impact on the evolution of ink, bringing artists of diverse vision, concept and media to new audiences. Galerie Ora-Ora’s 2017 art fairs so far include Volta New York, Art Basel Hong Kong and Volta13 in Basel, Switzerland in June 2017. Research-driven and intellectually enquiring, Henrietta’s “Asia Ink Research” platform has played an active role in the Hong Kong Culture Festival since its inception two years ago.
A life-long learner, Henrietta developed her interest in the arts during childhood, playing with oil, pastel, pencil and Chinese ink; she went on to obtain undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Economics from Queens University, and an MBA from Kellogg Business School, Northwestern University. In 2018, she completed her PhD degree in Art Theory and Criticism at China’s Academy for Art Industries, Shanghai University. As a prolific female cultural entrepreneur she plays an active role in the Entrepreneurs’ Organisation Hong Kong. Due to her unique background in business and art, she is regularly invited to speak as a thought leader and write academic papers on contemporary ink, the global art market, art as an investment, valuations, art licensing and art finance.
