Guernsey Students Prize

The Sovereign Art Foundation Guernsey Students Prize, which was established in 2015, invites all secondary schools in Guernsey to submit ten of the best artworks produced by its students. Students must be nominated by their school. The artworks are viewed by a judging panel who then shortlist 12 finalists before the public select three prize winners through voting online and in-situ voting at the exhibition.

The judges for The Sovereign Art Foundation Students Prize, Guernsey 2017, are:

Frances Lemmon

Frances is a professional artist living and working in Guernsey. She moved to Guernsey in 1973 before studying at Camberwell School of Art, Sir John Cass and London College of Printing. She has work in many private and public collections worldwide, including Ernst & Young, The PEH Hospital and The Guernsey Museum and Art Gallery. Her work can be viewed at Guernsey Museum and Art Gallery, PEH Hospital, Coach-House Gallery and Lovelypop Shop in Mill St. Read more at and

David Ummels

David was a co-founder of Astin Capital Management and has a MBA from the University of Liege. He is an entrepreneur and an art collector. He founded Art for Guernsey in 2015 and hosts visiting artists to the island. Read more at
