Art Workshop with Harry Cartwright in Lisbon
British artist Harry Cartwright led a workshop with families introducing his signature collage technique, read on to find out more!
We were thrilled to welcome one of our spotlight artists Harry Cartwright for a unique and inspiring workshop, held in the vibrant city of Lisbon. Inspired by his recently opened his solo exhibition Within These Walls at DAM Lisbon, Harry brought his signature artistic approach to a hands-on afternoon art workshop.
The workshop welcomed participants of all ages. Children, parents and adults alike came ready to create collages guided by Harry. Set in the heart of Dona Ajuda’s welcoming and sustainable space, the atmosphere was both lively and inspiring.
Throughout the afternoon, participants were able to create their own collages using an array of repurposed materials. Old magazines, vintage postcards and other previously loved items, many recycled and generously provided to us by Dona Ajuda. Along with paints, markers and other artistic tools, the resources available allowed everyone to bring their ideas to life.
This workshop gave a unique opportunity to learn hands on from a practicing artist whilst being sustainable and community-focused, set in a welcoming venue, and providing families with a fun summer afternoon activity to create some amazing pieces of art.
