During the trip, our art facilitators encouraged the children to recycle and be mindful of how we discard our used items. Through simple actions like this, we teach children that treating their neighbourhoods with respect is integral to being part of a community!

The children were challenged to be independent and purchase their own drinks from a local grocery store. Mission accomplished! Learning to interact with others and complete simple tasks without help from an adult is an essential part of a child’s development.

Strike a pose! The children were excited to come across the only remaining Ronald McDonald statue in Hong Kong during their exploration.

Following their trip, our group of explorers sat down to discuss their experience. Discussion is a core component of the MIB programme, helping to boost social skills and collaboration.

To finish up the project, the children created a collaborative artwork mapping out their neighbourhood. The work captures their important observations and tells the story of how they perceive their community.

Our art facilitators noticed that, following this excursion, the children were more respectful of each other’s boundaries and more cooperative with each other when making the community map.
