Nature Escape to Sai Kung Country Park

We took 33 MIB kids to explore the wonders of nature at Lions Nature Education Centre in Sai Kung! Guided by our art therapists, they observed and showed their gratitude to the environment. Read onto to find out about their adventure!

In November, we embarked on a special adventure with 33 MIB children to the Lions Nature Education Centre in Sai Kung. It was a day dedicated to spark curiosity, creativity, and connection with the natural world.

Under the guidance of expressive arts therapists Ciao Gor Gor and Miss Dinner, the children explored the beauty of nature up close. With the support of dedicated volunteers, they collected fallen leaves and petals, observing the intricate details of the environment around them. Using clay, they transformed these impressions into unique artworks, capturing the essence of nature in their own creative way.

As the session came to a close, the children gently returned the natural materials to the earth, a symbolic gesture of gratitude for the gifts nature had shared. This mindful act reminded them the importance of respect and reciprocity in our relationship with the environment.

The purpose of this activity was more than just creating art, it was about helping children reconnect with nature, restore focus, nurture empathy, and foster a sense of belonging. Through these experiences, creativity bloomed, and the children discovered new ways to express themselves using the resources around them.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the incredible volunteers from Time Auction and Social Career. Your support ensured the day was safe, smooth, and full of joy, allowing the children to immerse themselves in the wonders of the natural world.
