Guernsey Students Prize

The Sovereign Art Foundation Students Prize, Guernsey, was established in 2015 and seeks to recognise and celebrate the artwork of local students aged 11-18. It bolsters fledgling artists’ careers by giving them confidence and showing them that art is valued by the community.

As well as inviting schools to nominate students, the Prize also invites students aged 15-18 to independently enter a separate piece of their own artwork. This enables students to explore creative ideas that might not fit with their school coursework themes and develop these ideas over the summer holidays

Students aged 15-18 wishing to enter the competition should register their interest here by 15 July 2018. All finished artwork should be submitted by Wednesday 5 September, 2018.

To further encourage young artists in our community, the 2018 edition of the Guernsey Students Prize includes Merit Awards for the 11-14 age group. The Prizes are:

KS5 Judges Award £500
KS4 Judges Award £300
Public Vote Prize £500
KS5 Runner-up £200
KS4 Runner-up £100
Schools Prize £2,000
Schools Runner-up £1,000
Merit Awards £25 art supplies voucher

In addition there are two Scholarship Awards to be given, each to consist of an all expenses paid residential art masterclass experience for the student.

We are especially grateful to Art for Guernsey who are sponsoring the Scholarship Awards prizes and The Lexicon who are sponsoring the Merit Award prizes.
